Beyonce’s new video “Formation” is getting a bad review from a member of the U-S Congress. And it has nothing to do with the music.
Republican Pete King of New York rips the clip for “Formation” as “pro-Black Panther” and “anti-cop.”
What’s more, King says the video perpetuates a lie about the 2014 shooting of an unarmed black man by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri _ by indicating Michael Brown had his hands up when he was shot.
In his criticism, posted on his Facebook page, King said Beyonce is a gifted entertainer, but “no one should really care what she thinks about any serious issue.”
He also denounced those who have given her a platform _ like the media and the producers of the Super Bowl halftime show.
British band Coldplay is coming under fire for its latest music video, which was featured during their Super Bowl Half Time performance yesterday.
Critics in India say “Hymn for the Weekend” uses stereotypical Indian images of Hindu holy men, peacocks and colourful festivals to portray it as a country of pagan rituals.
They say the video ignores changes in India following the economic boom that has changed the face of Indian cities and towns.
