There definitely is no shortage of summer events throughout Cornwall and SD&G, fairs, festivals, Highland Games, etc…but there are a few events that you might not know about, and trust me, you’ll want to!
It’s Maxville’s 125th birthday – and why wait until the Games to party the true Glengarry way?
The event will be highlighting the sights, sounds and tastes of the town, and be packed with different activities from old-fashioned games, entertainment, fireworks, to a one-of-a-kind caber decorating contest.
Plus…do you really need an excuse to hear the magic of bagpipes and see a sea of colourful kilts? I think not!
RCMP Musical Ride – Upper Canada Village
Father’s Day – June 19th
Looking for something to do for your dad this year? BAM. You’re welcome.
RCMP Musical Ride is coming to Upper Canada Village. If you haven’t seen the ride before…you need to. Even if you have seen it, it never gets old.
Add the Village to the setting, and you have a super patriotic awesome weekend.
Don’t forget the bread and cheese while you’re at the village (if I haven’t eaten it all)
Long Sault Fun Fest
June 24th – 25th
If you missed this last year – no worries, cause it’s going to be TWICE the size this year!
Vendors, cars, motorcycles, food, classic kids events (pony rides, bouncy castles) magicians, and even some awesome team sporting events including volleyball, ball hockey, and 3 pitch!
I even made some friends last year joining in on a team!
Morrisburg Tubie Weekend
July 30th – 31st
If you haven’t been – you NEED to go this year!
I only heard of – and attended – this event for the first time ever last summer, and immediately regretted not going any sooner.
The two day event consists of a parade on Saturday (with some of the best floats I’ve ever seen), and the races on Sunday, where teams built their own crafts and race down the St. Lawrence, ending at the beach (some don’t get as far as the start though…which adds to the entertainment!)
Fun for the entire family, and probably the most unique event you’ll find in this area!
BeerFest – July 9th AND
Beyond 21 Food Fest – August 20th
Because what would summer be without some delicious food and a few beverages?
Both in their second year – these two events are a must-not-miss.
With twice the attendance expected for BeerFest, you get to sample some delicious craft beers from all throughout Canada, and sample some equally delicious foods from local restaurants, all while overlooking the beautiful St. Lawrence and enjoying some fantastic company.
And the Beyond 21 Food Fest isn’t just about all the ridiculously amazing food trucks that will be shutting down Downtown Cornwall for the day, but about the amazing cause it’s supporting as well to support those in need around our community. It’s a win-win all around.
If you want your event on the list, be sure to fill out the form on the On The Street page!
