There’s never a shortage of things to do around SDG during the summer, but sometimes the rain puts a bit of a “damper” on them…But don’t let it “cloud” your judgement, you can still make the most of it!
Here’s a few tips!
#1 – Try That Restaurant You’ve Been Meaning To
You know the one…it crosses your mind whenever a friend or coworker mentions it, or when you drive by it, but you just never find the time to get there.
Take advantage of the cancelled plans, and go grab lunch or dinner and try it out! Cornwall is full of incredible food that you don’t realize you’re missing!
2- Spa Day!
Treat yo-self! Get your nails done, book a hair appointment, a massage, gentlemen – stop by Kings and Little Ones for a refresher.
Nav-Spa is amazing, see if they can fit you in for a little something, especially if you know the forecast ahead of time.
And hey – why not check #1 and 2 off the list and grab some food at the Propeller or Jet Set after!
3- Visit The Cornwall Jail!
It’s important to take some time and appreciate the history of our community, and there’s no better place than the Cornwall Jail. Bring the whole family, and snap some pictures…who knows…maybe you’ll catch a ghost in one of them 😉
4- Netflix and Chill
No…not like that.
With the nice weather, we may not spend as much time binge-watching Netflix as we do in the winter, so grab some ice cream or some cool treats (that’s the chill part), and catch up on what may have been added that you haven’t noticed. It’s ok to sit and do nothing for a day!
5- Get Creative!
Whether you have kids or not, there’s lots of fun ideas that you can create inside your own home. There’s nothing worse than getting rain on a weekend you planned on camping – so build a pillow/blanket fort, or pop up the tent in your living room. Keep the TV off and enjoy good company!
It’s the perfect time to try out that recipe you saw pop up on your Facebook newsfeed too! You know the ones I’m talking about….
6- Go Outside!
As sweet as you are, you’re not going to melt…so go outside anyways! If there’s fundraisers going on around town, make sure to venture out and support our amazing community. Bring the umbrella and rain coat, and make the most of your weekend!
