T’is the season for everything orange…the pylons, the detour signs…oh yeah and pumpkins.
Here’s what you can expect and plan for around Cornwall this month:
Brookdale & Second St. West
Unfortunately…the opening of this intersection was delayed a week.
It should be opening again on Friday, October 7th.
The bright side – the project was originally expected to be done by the end of the year and it is now expected to be open by the end of November, with final paving and boulevard tree planting to be completed in the spring of 2017.
Marleau Avenue (Alice to Marlborough)
If you’ve been wondering what’s going on here…we’ll tell you.
We’ll also tell you you’ll be watching it for a while.
The bright side – the project of widening the stretch of Marleau Avenue from Alice to Marlborough is progressing well.
The work is being done at night to minimize the impact on traffic and the intersection will remain open during this work. The entire project is expected to be completed by November 18th
Cornwall Centre Road
I almost forget the day this stretch was open…
Expected to be completed mid-October, work is being done on culvert replacements, as well as the addition of bike lanes, widening and resurfacing.
It will be open to local traffic only.
The reconstruction of Fifth Street from Amelia Street to Marlborough is underway and progressing well. Work on the reconstruction of Fifth Street between Pitt Street and Sydney Street will start next week with substantial completion slated for mid-November.
Starting today – Sydney Street at Third Street East will be reduced to one lane until Tuesday, October 4th to facilitate the completion of water and sewer construction on Third Street East.
Parking on Sydney Street in the area of Third Street East will be affected as well.
The entire project is expected to be completed in roughly three weeks.
