A long-lasting period of freezing rain resulting in ice accumulation is expected or occurring.
Freezing rain expected later today.
Patchy freezing rain is forecast to develop late this afternoon and become more steady by evening.
Freezing rain will change to rain early Tuesday.
5 to 10 mm of ice accretion is expected.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
