YAY! Summer is right around the corner AKA BBQ season!!!
Here are 5 BBQ food ideas for the summer. Whether you’re making a meal for your family, hosting a dinner party or just love food like I do, these are winner ideas every time. But truthfully, you don’t need an excuse to make one of these. Bring out the drinks because it’s grillin’ time!
Am I right or am I right? These babies are just as good in the winter as they are in the summertime. Although, it goes without say that enjoying them with grilled corn on the cob (which is in season in July/August) and a nice cold beer out on the patio, makes them so much more enjoyable. Cheers!
Those are great to make on the BBQ. If you you’re rib passionate, you know what works best, is to sear them and then slow cook at low for a couple hours. Be patient, it’s worth it. The BBQ adds the amazing smoky flavor an oven can’t. Here’s a great recipe!

These are SO much fun to make. Buy a nice cut of beef, pork or chicken; cut it up, marinate it and then let your creativity run free. With fresh vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, onions and zucchinis, you can stack them on the skewer to your liking and grill them up. It’s so “summery” and so divine! Here’s a super flavorful marinade recipe.
Making hamburgers in the winter sucks… That’s why we all CAN’T wait for that snow to be gone right? Cuz HAMBURGERS… okay you get it, I’m pretty fond of them. I love making them in the summer not only because grilled hamburger patties are THAT much tastier but the vegetable toppings are fresh and in season. It just tastes better, and taste is… well EVERYTHING!
And finally…drum roll please
Weather you fancy a T-bones, top sirloin (like myself) or filet mignon. Steak is high up there for meat lovers during BBQ season. Have you ever craved a steak in mid-January and made a sad attempt at firing up the grills but …NO…just NO. Whatever you pair it with; fries, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes (obviously some kind of potato right?) and sautéed veggies, this meal is ALWAYS a winner at dinner time. Don’t forget a nice bottle of red to complete it.
In reality, you can make these during any season, but there’s something about enjoying them in summer. Perhaps it’s the sun shining, the warm breeze, eating out on the patio and pairing them with a cold adult beverage that makes these meals a match made in heaven in summertime.
Make one of these this weekend.
