On Monday in Atlanta, Gerogia, the Georgia Dome, the former home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons, host stadium for 3 Super Bowl games, 4 NCAA Final Four tournaments, hundreds of concerts and other events was set to be imploded.
Camera crews were set up near the stadium including a crew from the Weather Channel. All setups for television had to be done 3 hours prior to the implosion.
The Weather Channel crew was showing the feed live to online and TV viewers across the US when they got a rude surprise. An Atlanta public transit bus drove directly in the way of the camera shot, block most of the view of the implosion. Check out the video below.
You can hear the (bleeped) swears from a frustrated producer in the background. The bus driver pulled away from the camera just in time for the implosion to be complete. Apparently, the road was supposed to be closed to traffic. The bus driver stopped to do what everyone else was doing. Watch the implosion!
In case you’re interested, here’s a less obstructed view of the implosion.
Of course, the web had to have some fun with this one…
