Ok so I know there’s all the stereotypes out there saying women take FOREVER to get ready to get dressed/ready, whether it’s for work, a night out, or just to go out and run errands.
A study by totaljobs surveyed 2000 women and has found that women spend approximately FOUR MONTHS OF THEIR LIVES planning their outfit.
Not so fast though, it’s not why you would think.
Instead of just being “picky”, the study actually blames this stat on dress codes in the workplace, and the standards women face.
They break it down like this:
• On a typical work day, women will spend 14 minutes thinking and talking about their attire – equivalent to two and a half days every single year
• A quarter of women have been subject to unwanted comments about their appearance at work
• Female workers feel pressure from male management to dress a certain way
• 88% of men don’t worry about their work dress code
This of course feeds the ongoing conversation about equality and the challenges women face on a day to day basis.
I mean, come on, FOUR MONTHS!
