Here we go again. After a few days where temperatures in the negative single digits has felt comfortable compared to the last couple of weeks, another couple of days of extremely cold weather is coming just in time for the weekend.
Environment Canada put out the alert on Wednesday afternoon…
Special weather statement in effect for:
- Cornwall – Lancaster
- Maxville – Alexandria
- Winchester – Newington
Cold snap from late Thursday through Saturday.
A bitterly cold northwesterly flow will develop over southern Ontario Thursday. Extreme cold warning criteria of minus 30 is expected to be met in many places Thursday night into Friday and again Friday night into Saturday.
The cold snap will end by Sunday as a southwesterly flow develops.
Frostbite and travel advisories and warnings are likely to return for Friday and Saturday, so be prepared once again. The good news is that temperatures will jump back more comfortable values (around -10) by Sunday.
