What’s the best part of American Idol? The bad auditions, of course!!
It’s the only reason I watch the show. *Correction* It’s pretty much the ONLY part of the show I watch. But on this new season, they have decided that they are going NOT going to air the bad auditions.
The showrunner of this season of American Idol, Trish Kinane, explained to reporters at the 2018 Television Critic Association winter press tour her reasoning behind this decision.
It doesn’t feel comfortable to put borderline unstable people up on stage and laugh at them… I think that people once thought that the judges saw everyone, and now you know there’s a line of producers who screen before them. We want the humor, but we don’t want the exploitation.
Okay, now I feel kind of bad for enjoying the bad auditions.
